Minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on Wednesday 3rd April 2024, 7pm at Jubilee Hall

Present:  Cllrs L Williams (Chair), P Williams, G Thacker, J Thacker, C Jones, S Kirman, E Law, B Tiley, Cllr A White

County Councillor S Bunney

Public participation- There was a display of documents about the proposed play area, including correspondence about the play area with names redacted, information from Play Quest about the proposed equipment and pictures of the proposed location.  These were perused by those attending the meeting. There was then the opportunity for the public to make comments and ask questions. There was a variety of views, and issues and suggestions were raised around the location, maintenance, disabled access, litter bins and signage.

42/24 Declaration of Interest

To record declarations of interest by any member of the council in respect of the agenda items listed below. Members declaring interests should identify the agenda item and type of interest being declared.   To note dispensations given to any member of the council in respect of the agenda items listed- None 

43/24 Minutes of Previous meeting to be approved and signed.   

The minutes from Wednesday 6th March 2024 were signed as a true and accurate record.
 
44/24 Play area Proposal

a.   To locate the play area on the village green adjacent to the Village Hall car park, as far as possible from the beck but not going into the ‘boggy area’.  Fencing to go between the play equipment and the car park and between the play equipment and the beck, leaving room for people to walk along the beck unimpeded. Picnic benches to be placed around the other two sides. Proposed by Cllr. G. Thacker Seconded by Cllr. A. White, Voted 8 in favour 1 against.

b.   To purchase the play equipment, picnic benches and fencing as described in the bid. To be paid for using the funds raised by the parish over many years and Grants from CIL, CIF and WLDC.  Proposed by Cllr. C. Jones Seconded by Cllr. P. Williams. Voted 8 in favour 1 against.

Action: Cllr. L. Williams

c.   To investigate and purchase additional accessible equipment using a grant from the Constable Ings trust. Also to drop an area of curb, from the car park onto the green, to enable disabled access. Proposed by Cllr. J. Thacker Seconded by Cllr B Tiley Voted 8 in favour 1 against.

d.   To investigate suitable signage and organise litter bins.

45/24 Confirmation of date and time of next meeting 1st May 2024 Jubilee Hall- 7pm 

Meeting closed at 8. 30pm
